With the acquisition of a BLABO system from Oreco, Cubic Company Ltd. becomes the first company in Iraq to offer non-man entry tank cleaning services.

Based on Cubic’s capabilities within tank maintenance, the company now expands its activities to fully-automated crude oil tank cleaning services. The BLABO system will mainly operate in the Basra region as this is an important area for export of crude oil to Western countries. Thus, the area houses a large population of oil storage tanks, and it is essential to maintain the tank facilities operating under optimal conditions for which tank cleaning forms an important maintenance operation.

The BLABO system is especially designed to clean large volume oil tanks storing crude oil, heavy fuel oil or other media. With the BLABO system Cubic is now able to automatically clean above ground storage tanks with a diameter of up to 100 meter containing large volumes of sludge without sending operators into the tank. At the same time the BLABO technology and processes ensure optimum safety during the cleaning process and is a much faster and efficient alternative to manual methods.

Cubic Company Ltd. will operate exclusively within the territory of Iraq offering BLABO-based tank cleaning services starting in the beginning of 2010.
