Mobilisation process

Moblilisation of the BLABO® system
A BLABO® system mobilised next to crude oil tank at Daqing Oil field in China. The picture shows – from left to right – auxilary container, Skimming module, Re-circulation module and Suction module.

Mobilisation at Libyan tank
The BLABO® system is mobilised at a tank farm in the Libyan desert. The mobility of the modules allows the tank cleaning contractor to place the units in line if the mobilisation area is restricted to a road.

Distribution process

Close up of the distribution head
The distribution head is placed on top of the roof. It distributes the cleaning media to the nozzles. More heads may be needed depending on the number of cleaning nozzles.

Distribution of cleaning fluid on floating roof
The distribution head is seen at the center of the floating roof tank. The pneumaticcally operated distribution manifold is controlled from the Re-circulation module.

Cleaning process

Control panels
Fingertouch panels are installed inside the BLABO® system for easy operation and monitoring. The control panels are placed in the Re-circulation and Separation modules.

Day and night operation
To shorten the overall down-time of the tank, the cleaning process continues night and day.

Optimal cleaning result
This picture illustrates the indexed pattern of the cleaning nozzles. The cycle is repeated a number of times depending on the hardness of the sludge.

Separation process

Solid/liquid separation
The conveyor transports the solids from the decanter to a small solid container.

Separation module
The solid separation module with a line of small containers for solid waste.

De-mobilisation process

Mobile tank claning system
The BLABO® system is built into standard 20′ containers and therefore easily adopted to any transportation method, i.e. truck, ship, rail.

Re-circulation module

Re-circulation module
This view inside the re-circulation module shows the three hydrocyclones which performs the pre-separation. The main components in the Re-circulation module is a heat exchanger, hydrocyclones and booster pump.

Hairpin pipe
The special hairpin pipe is designed to transfer cleaning fluid over the tank wall, down to the floating roof. The pipe connects the Re-circulation module to the tank cleaning nozzles.

Separation module

Separation module
A view down the separation module with the high-speed separator at the back.

Decanter
The function of the decanter is to remove solid particles from the liquid.

High-speed centrifuge
The centrifuge is used for the Liquid/Liquid separation.

Suction module

Suction module – Left side
This picture shows the left side of the suction module with operating panel and suction pump.

Pre-filters
Two parallel pre-filters protect the BLABO® process system from being contamined with coarse particles like welding sticks, gloves and rags.

Suction module

Skimming module seen from the inlet section
The coaslescing plates stacked inside the Skimming module seen from the “inlet” section. In this section the solids is accumulated on the bottom by gravity. The remaining oil/water mixture enter the coalescing plates for oil/water separation.

Skimming module
The Skimming module seen from the front. From this platform you are able to monitor and control the separation process. An inspection hatch allows for the operator to observe the skimming process.

Coalescing plates
A close-up of a stack of coalescing plates. The holes in the plates will force hydrodynamic coalescence. The merging of very small oil droplets into larger ones will create extremely enhanced coalescence. Before the oil droplets are seperated they are captured by the next higher plate.
